Wildmind Science Learning

Journey to a world where wild animals inspire empathy, wonder, and a love for nature among hundreds of thousands of children. Welcome to One Spirit - Allen Youth & Community Center (AYC) a sanctuary that cares for over 50 non-releasable wild animals and fosters environmental appreciation in young hearts. Everybody Solar partnered with Wildmind Science Learning to illuminate this vision by installing a 27.4 kW solar energy system, a step towards their mission of fostering ecological consciousness.

Project Overview:

Situated in Half Moon Bay, California, Wildmind Science Learning engaged its "wild teachers" – non-releasable wild animals – to provide hands-on science education to Bay Area children. More than 500 educational programs annually in local schools fostered environmental literacy and a deeper connection to nature.

The installation of the 27.4 kW solar project at Wildmind Science Learning's sanctuary in Half Moon Bay translated into substantial savings, over $9,000 annually, redirecting funds to animal care and educational endeavors. This financial boost enabled Wildmind Science Learning to extend its outreach to an additional 5,000 students or care for 3 more wild animals annually. In addition, with a meaningful partnership with the installer SunWork Renewable Energy Projects, this installation brought volunteers from Enphase Energy and Jinko Solar to the field, enabling them to directly assist in the system's installation and the meet the "wild teachers" in person.

The sanctuary itself is a haven for these remarkable animals, offering an environment where they thrive and serve as living examples of the importance of safeguarding our planet.

"Everybody Solar's commitment to clean energy aligns perfectly with our mission at Wildmind Science Learning. With their support, we're not only caring for our wild animal residents but also nurturing a sustainable future for the next generation of environmental stewards." Michelle Durant, Assistant Director, Wildmind Science Learning
